Quick question - problem is as in the subject line.
The release lever lifts, but I have to manually disengage the catch at the same time, on the other side of the seat by the handbrake, to get the seat to tilt.
Any ideas how to fix it please? I'm guessing a cable's perished or something, but can find nothing in the Haynes manual / online to suggest what to do.
TIA.

Aah b*ll*cks, thank you.
Any time people at work or online ask dumb questions, I point them in the obvious direction - and now the shoe's on the other foot. I'd say
but I'd be lying!!

I've got a bit of wire holding one of mine out of the way so I can tilt the seat forward with out leaning over, it was a short term fix 3 years ago

If the cable had stretched before it broke, you might get away with a bit of chocolate block to hold the 2 broken ends together. I've done it before.
