Sagging drivers door

Post by barefoot »

As it says, door sagging because of much play in the bottom hinge.
I have been advised that I need part number 321 831 403 - but my skill with buying parts from numbers is not the best.
Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the correct part? one half of the hinge?
I understand that the pin itself is unavailable & I'll have to get one made.
Does all this make sense or am I missing an obvious fix?
Or does someone have exactly what I need in their garage?

Many thanks,
MacColl

I have to admit I was looking at replacing door pins as per guide in main part of the website.

However after less than half an hours trial and error with different thickness's of washer on the top bolt of the hinge I haven't given it a second thought. Not an issue any more although I'm sure the pins might be the way to go in the long term. They not available through VW heritage/Classic parts?

Here's the guide, it has the part numbers..

Thanks for all your replies,
I've not been able to get on here for ages.
I've now got pins & a hinge & will be indulging
in a bit of all in door wrestling at the weekend.
