I'm looking to sell my MK2 1.8 GT2
I've had it 2 years, but I'm looking to go newer now, hence the sale.
It's done 95k miles, 92k when I bought it.
It drives great, the only thing that lets it down (that can't really be seen in the photos) is the paintwork. Theres no rust at all, but it's very faded (pink) on the bonnet, and needs a respray. I've spoken with a few friends who have said it's an easy job if you know the right people.
There was no history with the car before I bought it, but I've kept EVERY reciept for everything I've bought/had done, even down to reciepts for wiper blades.
When I bought it, it wouldn't start. After a lot of hassle, I decided to swap the carb from the Pooberg carb to the Weber 32/34 equivalent and fitted a K&N Air filter. Since then I've had no problems apart from an intermittent starting problem, where it won't fire up, but once the air filter is removed it'll start straight away. It's a mixture problem that may be picked up if the car is MOT'd.
I've had the Cambelt changed recently, changed the rocker gasket, new Dizzy cap and rotor arm, new plugs, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, and changed the battery.
I have a new water pump that I can sell with the car.
Bodywork-wise, its solid, but both bumpers could do with replacing. The front one has some scrapes on the corners, but is straight. The rear one has a slight bend in it, but I have a black replacement bumper that I can sell with the car that'll need painting.
The driver's seat has some splitting on the sides, but I haven't been able to find a reasonable replacement.
The LCD clock on the dash has blown a while ago, due to a split in the front plastic cover of the dials. I have a replacement set of dials I can include in the sale.
The dash is slightly warped, and has a small crack on it, and could do with changing.
The tax is up in November, and the MOT runs out this month, but I can re-MOT it. I know it'll pass.
Anyone know how much I should ask for? I have no idea how much I should ask for.
