hay i need help putting a mk2 gti flywheel on and a new clutch i dont have a 3/8 torque wrench but ive got a 1/2inch on but no step down, ive a haynes manuel for the info problem is i dont know where the timing marks are cheers kev ps i will pay 4 petrol msg me

Not sure I've got this right, but do you mean to say that your torque wrench is 1/2 but sockets are 3/8s? If so you can buy a reducer from Halfords for a couple of quid. Don't get a cheaper one as they sheer off.

Also, the timing mark on the flywheel will line up fine due to the dowels on the flywheel itself, it can only fit snug one way dude.

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick there.

with my flywheel it seems u can put it on a choise of 3 ways u can marry it up to the bolt patterns with no problems from any dowels. cheers kev

and bud u got it right lol that is the problem but i dont have a reducer ither
