Rear View Mirror Mount Removal

Post by DRobbo »

For the life of me I can't get the mount for the rear view mirror off. It's stuck like a good'un!

Any tips for getting it off without breaking the screen???

Ta! :good:

Have you removed the tiny allen-headed bolt? It holds the mirror onto the base that's stuck on the 'screen.

I need it off so I can fit this... http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_shop.p ... try_GB.htm :hehe:

The mirror itself has disintegrated away just leaving the mount atm :ire:

probably stuck on with 2-pack adhesive. i'd guess you'll need to find something that will eat this, without damaging the glass.

new screen might be easier! "hello, autoglass? i've just had a stone thru my windscreen"
