How to fit 17cm speakers at front?
I was wondering how to squeeze them in instead of small ellipses...
Re: How to fit 17cm speakers at front?
You're looking at custom build there fella. There's a thread on the ICE room with beddo and I trying to sort it.
I'd imagine the only real way is a new door pods, I have no Waf tomorrow so I'm going to be pissing about with fibre glass.
I'll report back

You could also make a customfit in the kickspace/footwel on both sides.
Make a wooden ring and place in position and then of with the poly.
Next is just an example to give you an idea of new doorboards, sorry that it is in Dutch.

You can see what I did in this thread with my Polo door cards..

I'm still deciding on whether I want to keep the interior standard and go for alpine replacements for the originals.

Had forgotten that! Will have a play around today as that's pretty much what I was looking at.MacColl wrote:You can see what I did in this thread with my Polo door cards..

I currently have alpines in the front and they rock, much much better than the original kit. Would much rather have the components in there though, having them in the board at the back sounds a bit odd.

You can fit 17cms in much the same way I've done mine (Look in "I've been playing with front speakers" on here) but they're a bit big, and are likely to need some cutting to the inner structure of the door (or to stick out into the car along way!) It CAN be done, but easier life is to use smaller speakers.
