What's best for getting the interior trim nice and shiney?

I'm trying without success to get my interior trim, especially the dash, nice and shiney, but nothing I've used up till now gives me the results I'm looking for.

So far I've tried Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant, Auto Glym Fast Glass, Auto glym Vinyl & Rubber Care and even Meguiar's Trim detailer. However, at best they leave the surface dull and lifeless or at worst streaked with a sort of milky haze.

Can anyone recommend something that'll give me the sort of deep, non-greasy, rich lustre I'm looking for? I did eventually find something that would do that when I had my old Scirocco on the road, but I can't remember now what it was called!

I know how odd this sounds but I find really good baby wipes are a winner. I tried one of the Autoglym interior things once and made everything look plastic

I find that window cleaner is good for cleaning pretty much every hard surface inside the car.

Be advised that a gloss dash will reflect the sunlight like a b*tch tho. I would personally stick to a matt finish, for which I would recommend....

Chemical Guys one is mint on the black body kit tho.

Make sure your surface is clean first, dilute some All Purpose Cleaner like Stardrops and wipe the surface clean. Will help the product do its job.

Plain and simple - it has to be autoglym - I find it gives a lovely lustre on a black dash and trim - quite a few people on here will vouch for the interior on mine - you surely don't want it too glossy else it will make the plastic look cheap. I know what you mean about the streak look with autoglym - best way to apply it I find is to literally go crazy with it all over the inside - make a real mess - ideally do it before you clean the car outside - then about 30 mins to an hour later wipe it all off - hey presto

Agree with the Funk... baby wipes are perfect for getting the plastic back to plastic.

I use one of autoglym's, but it's the one without silicon (I'm mildly allergic to it)

Personally... on a Rocco dash... I hate it being reflective. Sun shines right in my eyes off it.

Yeah, I take your point guys. Maybe lustre is more what I’m looking for … anything, but dull and hazy!

There we go, lustre … that’s what I want! Which of the Auto Glym range do you use to achieve that and do you just clean it off with a soft cloth?

Nice, I might give that one a go Alex. I have to say though that the Auto Glym Fast Glass seems to bring the body kit up nicely too. Just one other question, which baby wipes are you guys using?

Whatever's on multi-buy offer in Sainsbury. They're all much of a muchness for what you want, although some smell of aloe vera if you're wanting the wife to do it for you ;)

Try autoglym vynl and rubber care its in a trigger spray bottle - as I said just nuke it leave it and use a soft cloth and wipe it over - if there are any streaks it probably that the vynl needs more nourishing so spray a bit more on and rub harder and it will come up real good

If using baby wipes - just don't try cleaning the glass with them.
I was bored in a A14 traffic jam for two hours - during which time I wiped the whole screen to removed tonnes of dust and grime.
It worked a treat, but gave loads of streakiness for ages and was a bugger to clean off as well!

i usually use mr sheen, or the cheapo dash dressing that by pure coincidence is the same as the one they keep in work for us to do our trucks with
