motometer / vod gauges

Post by Gilb666 »

Just been poking around the GTX (as i cant do much else with it right now) and noticed my clocks dont seem to match

The rev counter is VDO, but the speedo is Motometer, and only goes to 120mph. is this normal? And shouldn't the brands match?

My GT2 speedo goes up to 140mph, and while i know neither car will go this fast, it jsut seems strange to me that the slower car has the faster speedo.

mileage seems about right looking at previous MOT's, so have no reason to belive the clocks have been changed otherwise

My 84 Storm has 120 mph clocks as well where as the Scala has 140 mph.

My 86 GTX (no fuel-swingometer) has 120mph clocks. I get the feeling they introduced 140mph clock around '89, when the whole range got a bit of a reshuffle.

Perhaps they just threw in whichever speedo came easily to hand.

Cool, nothing to worry about on the mph side by the sounds of it then!

What about the brands? do motometer only do speedo's, and not rev counters perhaps?

Nate,

I may be interested. Mine packed in, unless it's a connection fault (haven't looked yet).

I think it stopped working when the Weber was fitted.

How much you asking?

Strictly speaking they should match - as should the flexible printed circuit board (PCB) - as the brands have slightly different layouts.
