Stem Seals

Post by T0M »

Hello there,
Just wondering how you get the valve stem seals off a DX head. little buggers seem to be in there pretty tight. started pulling them out with pliers but just started ripping rubber instead of getting them out. cheers, Tom

REplied in your project thread... but long nose plier... on the outside of hte seals (so the metal bit) twist and pull. I did the same first time I removed them, shredded the plastic / rubber... but the twist/pull method gets them off without issue.

You can get proper stem seal pliers, but as above, try to grip the metal ring, not the rubber.
