I'll second that. Saw it close up at the NEC on Saturday and just loved it!neillyboy wrote:

Hi,
Just a quickie. What's the idea of the "holes" in the front bumper??
Really like the colour and the wheels.

Re: Show us your Mk2 - picture thread.......
Never taken any of it myself but these are the photos I was sent when I bought.
Dont worry its back on its original wheels and shocks and the spoilers back on.
Annoyed the idiot peeled off the scirocco script off the boot window though.
Shes still undergoing resto, kinda got put on hold for 12 months as i joined the raf not long after buying, but should pick up pace now ive finished training and Im getting the car towed to my new camp and they have ramps you can use.
so hopefully ill get some new pics up as she comes along.
Been inspired by markhs amazing resto threads. How does he do it so quick.

Nice looking car ... at least you won't have far to travel to attend the National Meet!

I need to change that actually, I was training at Cosford. Im now at Brize. Ive got to go back to Cosford for another year to finish off my apprenticeship in 2012 though and Im hoping to have her presentable for that meet. I look forward to seeing yours there, what engine are you going for in yours?

Gonna leave the original engine in. I'm reluctant to change it in this instance as I kind of see it as the heart and soul of the car. I know that probably sounds daft, but as you'll maybe have gathered from my thread I'm kind of attached to this one and its my first project. Now when I do my next one ....dozzum wrote:I need to change that actually ...

Old picture of my previous Scirocco (RIP ):
Both taken at the disused petrol station at RAF Heyford.

Re: Show us your Mk2 - picture thread.......
As the sun was shining this afternoon I decided to take Lily out for a drive and boy was I glad I did. Not only did I pass another MkII Scirocco, but I stumbled across a very tasty MkII Golf Cabriolet.
Given that it was in such good condition and it was white I immediately thought “photo opportunity” and parked up across the road from it where I took a few piccies …
