Missing tube

Post by Mr Funk »

Good evening camels!

I'm missing a tube:

It's the one that goes from the oil filter, I *think* it goes to the bottom of the water pump but don't want to bung one on and hope for the best, if someone could get a photo I'd be dead happy.

Cheers

Looks like you are in need of a dipstick guide, about a quid from the dealer!

I think you will find that it goes from the oil cooler to the bottom of the top radiator hose flange on the cylinder head. You can see the tube sticking down from there in your picture.

The bottom connection of the three on the water pump is the bottom radiator hose.

And as Ian says, you need a new dipstick guide! GSF do them as well. But do warm up the plastic before you fit it, or it will only split on you as you press it on.

That's what I thought but the pic on vagcat didn't really help.
Dipstick guide is coming although at the mo I'm just getting the engine ready to dump in

Looks like you're missing the fuel feed to the WUR as well... don't smoke when you're trying to start it ;)

Yeah, there's a load missing as the engine is still sitting under a cover in my yard. We've just been trying to build it up as much as possible before dumping it in.

While you have access, why don't you clean up the plate where the engine number is?

Just thought I'd find something else for you to do .... :hehe:
