Hi folks, has anyone any experience of fitting a full vacum central locking on their MK2..... All parts have been removed from a doner mk but not sure if I should tackle this one......

if the system leaks at all it won't work. much easier to get the electric kit from maplin

Just about to do the vacum system my self, out of a Corrado.... still might say duck it and fit the maplins version though!

is the vaccuum system a similar to the one that causes people problems on the 6n polos?

from what i can tell, yes. the handles are slightly different on the newer stuff though, and are easy to fit incorrectly which does cause quite a few problems

I just fitted a full vacuum setup. Pretty easy although I didn't bother with the petrol flap as you'd need to drill the body and depending on the donor car you may need to get the new flap painted to match. I'll just keep the locking cap.
