Stripping the alternator

Post by Mr Funk »

Thinking of painting/powder coating up the alternator but assume that taking it apart is the best idea as I can change the bushes while I'm at it. Anyone got any suggestions on the best way or even if it's a good idea?

Cheers

Haynes actually identifies how to strip down the two standard issue alternators.

Having said thathough, I'm having issues stripping down the Goof one that I have, mind you it's got lots of amperage, so might be a bit OTT for what I need.
