Central Locking

Post by Gilb666 »

Hi

Is the central locking on a GTII electronic or hydrolic as standard? Mine is fitted with electronic, and while i have no reason to think it's not original, the 91' Golf and 96' Corrado i've had have both been hydrolic.

Is your fuel filler flap locked by the central locking? On factory systems it will be, but aftermarket kits don't include the filler flap (there's a protruding nipple on the inside of the flap and no lock on the filler cap if it's a factory system).

no, there isn't

this may also explain why the boot lock doesn't work too, i just figured something was broke!

Any idea if it would be difficult to add central locking to the boot?
i'm not too bothered about the filler cap, i've got to take the cap off anyway

You can get a complete universal central locking bootkit from various places including fleabay.

I have one ready to go on mine, but forget how much it set me back, I know it wasn't too much (else I wouldn't have bought it :yup: )
