Mk3 Golf Seats - Transplantable?

Post by Funky Diver »

As per the title, are Mk3 Golf seats easily dumped into a 53B? Or is an entirely new seat subframe fixing doofer required?

I'm not overly fussed about them doing the slidey thing as the only thing getting in the back are younglings and they can climb over :D

Cheers,
Rich

I believe the subframes are different and would require changing over but dont quote me on that.

Mk1/Mk2/Rado front seats are a straight swap.

No.

And you want to be careful with Golf seats in general as they sit higher.

It's not just the headroom though, it's the whole sitting-low-in-a-sports-car feel that you'll miss on higher seats.

I believe people like 'rado seats - Mr Funk and GTXTRA both have them, I think.

And then I went and found this - http://www.matey-matey.com/corrado_seat ... sion.shtml

Does give some serious ponderment. I know Mr Funk don't have back seats, but if they can be MADE to fit, that'd be perfect. I have a BIG hammer if needed, lol :groove:

had corrado seats in my old polo (as you do...)
I reckon they actually go a bit lower thatn rocco ones, were a little firmer, but GF reckons the side bolsters finish a little lower down, so your shoulders aren't so scrunched forwards. Not a difference I notice at 6'1".

Height adjustment handles are underneath too, so you get rid of the handles from next to the handbrake.

I'd think that even if you put the glf seats in, they'd be at their lowest position on day 1, and you'd be wishing they'd go lower! I certainly wouldn't have wanted to go back to the stock ones in the polo!
