Replacing Rocco with Mk3 GTi

Post by jim91 »

After wee man arrived with need for baby seat etc had to get something sensible, so got this

Intention is to but rocco on classic policy and garage it away, as think it's too good to daily anymore, so just weekend use maybe.
Had been using golf only last 4or5days, leather, all electrics, PAS, real brakes, most modern car I've ever owned :chill:
Got into rocco today to go to work expecting a big culture shock after being used to Mk3....... hell know, just reminded me how class the rocco is far far far nicer car!!!!!

Roccos rule...........but then you all know that, just a pity they don't do a 5door

You must have a bad mk3 and a good scirocco. When i drove mine back after being in the vento it was terrible. Granted one tyre was 10psi, it doesnt have 1st gear, suspension is trying to kill it and it was very damp inside

tow children seats one for the golf and your good lady and the other for kdz for you and him teach him well young padwean :nerner:

There`s a blue scirocco blowin warm wind into my face
The sun is shining on the underside of the bridges
And there`s cars going by with smiles in the windows

I'm just glad that you're keeping the Rocco Jim! I swear I've seen that Mk3 before. It looks beaut. Good reg too (even if it isn't the original)

Was originally from east belfast and serviced at Sandown religiously!! Would have been IAZ then and on BBS 6spokes......... oh and the reg has changed again from one in pic to something a bit more original :yup:

Hadn't driven anything but the Golf for last 10days or so and getting more used to driving it and it's comforts..... like PAS, leccy windows etc. New years day, first car i drove in 2010 had to be the rocco so i took it for a spin  oooooh yeah!!!!! No comparisson with Golf at all. I am kinda glad i don't have to use it everyday anymore though as I think it's maybe too good and getting more and more worried of leaving it anywhere

That Golf looks well matey, My mrs has a mk3 golf tdi and its the GL model so has electric everything. Its done around 140'000 miles now and has been pretty well abused and thus drives like a bathtub full of water - I prefer the Scirocco anyday :yup:

I suppose once the Golf comes to the end of its usefull life through daily use you could always rebuild the engine and stick it in your rocco :dunno:

Cheers, yeah its a real nice one..........actually a lot nicer than I wanted :hehe: Starting to like it more the more I drive it, still lacks the power, economy and driveability of the Rocco :chill:

Got rocco through MOT tonight......... then did a wee victory lap :chill:
