I know this one has been covered before, but alot was talked about and no one ever really came up with the answer?....even after changing alot of parts.
On the 1.8i Scala DX engine, from a cold start ya have to give it quite abit of throttle for it to start and even then it takes ages to finally kick into life - revs are up and down for a few seconds then its fine...... once warmed no throttle is needed to start.
But from cold without throttle ya got no chance!
Any ideas? - Thought the cold start valve is the best place to start myself.
Heard from a mate who has an "1990" Audi Coupe with the same injection system you can test the cold start valve spray pattern by getting a friend to hold it into a glass while turning over the engine.
I haven't even got around to look at it yet myself - but would welcome a discussion on other possible causes.
Cheers.
John
