Can't open bonnet on MK2 scirocco

Pulling the handle inside the car doesn't seem to do much.

I put the car in the air quickly and traced the cable down to the drivers side behind the lights and pulled the lever it is attached to.

This allowed the bonnet up on that side but it still seemed clamped down well on the other side. I had a look but could not see anything else obvious...

I'll put the car on some stands properly at the weekend and have another look but if anyone has any ideas?

You work the handle inside the car and get a mate to pull and push on the bonnet at the front as you do it, should pop open then

The bonnet has 2 latches that hold it down, one each side of the bonnet, sounds like you need to release the other one. As Rissoco has said try getting a mate to help, otherwise it'll have to be back in the air again.

once you get it open grease the latches under the bonnet to stop it happening again
