Which body trim parts are difficult to obtain?

Post by FuzzyEdges »

Before I start stripping all the trim, bodykit and bumpers from project Bill which bits do I need to take extra special care of?

Are the black rubbing srips still available? also the stuck on vinyl trim at the back of the doors/rear windows for example.

Over to the knowledgable forum........

It's nice to be nice.

generally all discontinued.
worth checking at local vw dealer in case old stock sitting on shelves or available on back order from stock held in Germany AND if they are particularly helpful they can check if other UK dealers have items hanging around.
for a fee they will move stuff around the dealer network.

secondhand bodykits reasonably common on here and ebay - careful removal and a decent bodyshop can bring old/damaged ones back to life.

side trims can get damaged when being removed

there are a couple of thread on here re the b pillar trim and rear hatch vinyl - there is always satin black paint too, an option i went for on the black car a while back

others will pile in i am sure sire.

I'm off to get some bits off a scrap rocco friday.

Am I right in thinking those 2 rubber strips on the roof and parcel shelf clips are getting tougher to find?
Any other bits the scrap guy won't think are worth owt?
