Cig lighter doesn't work.

Post by Junglist »

Can't seem to get a cig lighter to work. I tried another one (out of my scrapper) and it's the same. They get warm, but not hot enough to glow. The socket seems fine as it charges my tomtom and powers my 240v inverter OK. Any ideas? Is this common? Is it a socket problem or the lighters themselves?

Ta in advance.

I don't smoke either. My chick does. I also don't like bits of my car not working. I think this is the only electrical bit that doesn't so it's particularly irritating. Also, there's the odd occasion where it's helpful to have something that provides that kind of heat, rather than a flame, when doing little repair jobs on stuff.

Mine's the same. Powers the shat nav but hasn't ever had enough power to do the ciggie lighter. I don't smoke so it's never bothered me. I'm having a play today so I'll get the meter out and see if I can figure it out
