Anyone used a jig from rolloverjigs.com - Help!

Post by daveyheats »

Morning all. Has anyone bought a jig from https://www.rolloverjigs.com/, and if so, do you have any photos of the mounting bolt points you used on the front and back?

I'm struggling to mount it with the centre of gravity correct, meaning it's not easily turned / can't be put on it's side.
Any help massively appreciated!

The pivot point looks far to high.
All other photos I have seen, it is much closer to the body mountings (bumper mounts).
Are the 2 vertical bars attached to the pivoting bar on the jig adjustable for height?

You may not be too far out. See this video for the Mk1 Golf:

The centre of gravity on the Scirocco is obviously a bit lower, so one or two bolt holes higher might be about right.

Yeah, I've been doing some research and it seems a mixed bag of where people are mounting it. I'll experiment with raising it up by a couple of bolt holes and see what happens!

Did you get this sorted? I’ve just bought the rollover jig but not mounted my shell yet. Any advice is appreciated.

Will be having a go at fine tuning it this week hopefully mate. Will let you know the magic mounting hole positions when sorted!

Just had a text from Thomas at rolloverjigs. He's been an absolute legend trying to help, and reached out to a previous customer with a MK2 to find out how they had it mounted.
Customer has told him it's mounted on the 4th hole from the top front and back, and spins perfectly.

Waiting for a local mechanic to pop round with an engine lift so I can adjust it to the above, but sounds like that's the sweet spot hopefully!

Just out of interest, as I'm guessing one or two holes are hidden in your picture, how many holes from the top is it at now? Once you've found the balance point, the height between centres of the upper and lower bars would also be useful for anyone using a different brand of jig.

Just had these 2 images from Thomas at RolloverJigs from the customer he messaged. 4th bolt hole from the top as mentioned.
Will be trying it shortly so will post on here if this works for me too :)

Quick update - mounted on the 4th bolt holes down both sides and she now spins and balances effortlessly. Hopefully this now helps anyone else who gets one of these!
