Hi - does anyone have tips for repairs to an inner wing on the Mk1.

It is up high where the clip for the fuel filter attaches to the inner wing and runs out either side of the clip.

If it's badly rusted, I would cut out all the rust with an angle grinder and weld in some new steel. For using an angle grinder and welding around there you need to move all parts of the fueling system in that area
from the car and clean up the area around using a wire wheel on an angle grinder. Then good quality base coat, eg Electrox, spray body colour and underseal on the outside. If rust isn't too bad, a good clean up back to shiny metal inside and out.
