Was the GTII ever fitted with power steering as standard or was it an option ?
If so does anyone has a pic of the engine identifying where the PS unit is located?

Later USA Mk1 Golf cabriolet came with power steering, same engine etc as Mk2 Scirocco.

Of course this would be a LHD rack.
Best route for power steering would be to go for one of the electric power steering options, couple of companies i've seen taking Vauxhall electric PS units and throwing them into the mk1 golf/mk2 scirocco columns.
I can't vouch for them personally though...I'd just stick with non pas!

Simon Weaver has retro fitted power steering on his GT2, believe it to be either the Corsa or Micra PS unit. Lovely and light.
