Compatibility

Hi guys I’m really struggling with fuel feed issues, please see my other post for details and any help.
Anyway I’m getting close to possibly having to put in another engine but don’t know what is compatible.
The car is a scirocco mk2 1989-90 single carb 1800cc GT four speed manual shift. Does anyone know what type of compatible engine I should look for? Thanks again for help guys and I’m hoping it doesn’t come to an engine swap if I can just figure out the fuel issue.

I’m surprised you only have 4 gears... I thought all later cars came with a 5 speed gearbox? Have you a picture of the gearbox?

If your problem is fuel related fitting a different engine may not fix the problem as you will still have the most of the same fuel parts still on the car....

Try what mr Brown said in your other post?
