Well, we thought it had sold... apparently not. At least, it certainly hasn't gained any owners...

That ad is dodgy as feck, looks like it's been copy and pasted by a four year old.
The wheel thing is odd, I've used lepsoms quite a few times and never been charged that much and that was with large wheels. Also, would you really want to be running round on original tyres?

I suspect the kind of person buying this car (if it was genuine) wouldn't be driving it.

Re: The thread about the £19k Mk1 GTI
And there we were thinking it had actually been sold!
Despite this, the sale last year of the blue '77 Mk1 with 28k on the clock demonstrated that an exceptional example can reach this kind of money.........if marketed with all the sales pazazz and inferred peace of mind of buying from a classic car dealer.
Evidently, this nice example has already had that treatment, but without success. That's why (unless someone has money to burn) I just don't see this shifting for that same price as a private sale, especially with a poorly presented advert like that. If KGF couldn't sell it for what is being asked, then I don't see much hope.
Consequently, I'd say it's more like in the region of £8k as a private sale.
(a reputed final Mk2 sold in the UK, a one owner, 28k mile GTII appeared to sell recently on Carandclassic based on an £8750 asking price)
