Post by Throttles »

Hi all,
Whilst clearing out my stock of parts, some not seen by me for some time!! I came across this rear original nos back box for I believe a mk2 scirocco the only problem is I cannot for the life of me cross reference the part number
TYP NR 533 119 C
Made in west germany so gives u an idea of how old it is I've included a couple of pics so hopefully someone can help
Cheers Rod

Just from looking at the mounts it's for a later mk2 with spacesaver spare wheel.
If the back pipe is as long as it looks then it's for a body-kitted model.
Carb or injection depends on the diameter of the inlet pipe.

Show us your tail pipe !! If it sweeps up to top left as seen from the back of the car - it will be from Scirocco Mk2. If it does a little kink and comes out fairly parallel to the silencer - then it maybe a from a Golf Mk1 Cabrio (later 1.8 cars). Haven't checked the number however ??

If the code starts 53 ( as it does) then it's a scirocco part.

Hi guys thanks for the replys I'll get a picture of the tail pipe at the wkend with it unwrapped
If I remember correctly the chap I got it from was a head VW mechanic and said it was for a scirroco as per the 53 but have never unwrapped it until now, it's been tucked away for so long.
Thanks again for all comments and help
