Weber, vacum hoses and brakes???

Post by dozzum »

Changed my useless pierburg to a weber the other week.
wasnt quite sure how to connect up the vacum hoses.
Id seen on a few forums that you no longer need the green ball thingy so i left that out and hooked the line straight from the carb to the connecter off the manifold.

Couldnt be certain as the car hadnt been running for a few weeks due to other problems but i thought the brakes felt really pants.

So i thought pherhaps it would be best to have a play around with putting the "mysterious green ball" back into the loop somewhere. As i had also seen someone reply on a forum that you shouldn't throw it away as it can be useful to improve braking problems.
I conlcuded that what made the most sense was to have it so the carb was sucking air out of the green ball via a one way valve then to connect it into the connector by the manifold.

Seems to have made a difference , brakes seem a bit harder now.

Only thing is as i'm writing this im now thinking the one way valve should maybe be on the pipe from the green thing to the manifold connector???

Anyone know better than me, which wouldnt be hard!!! :dash:
