A daft question...Whats this for?

Post by scirocco-monkey »

Please excuse my lack of knowledge :-D On the air filter box that clips over the carb on my 1.6 GT there is a rubber plug and when pulled out it reveals a hole, Whats the purpose of this? Best left closed or open?

Cheers all :P

Closed as otherwise you'll get unfiltered air direct into the carb. If I remembered right its to allow adjustment of the air/fuel mixture.

Also. If you use the webber carb this hole is where you fix the airbox to the carb. You get a bracket that bolts to the top of the carb and a top hat shaped washer that fits in the hole.

Ben.
