Which oil?

Can someone please recommend which oil I should put into my MK2 1.6 GT? It's on about 140.000 miles. People keep tell me different things

Semi sythetic 10w40 oil is what you need.

I use this stuff.

Also just a good quality filter, Vw's one or a Mann filter are what I would recommend, the link in my last post you will see the filters or you can shop around.
Don't forget a new sump plug washer.

Cheers for that, I just order that oil and I bought a MANN filter the other day. I suddenly remembered the other day that I have not changed the oil in about 3 years and I do quite a bit of milage in it...Opps

12 months or 10,000 miles is recommended, so make sure you do change it and your engine may get to my sort of mileage, I'm about to get to 270,000 miles and it's still going....

Yeah 3 years is a bit slack for me, I normally do it every 6 months. Just changed the oil and filter anyway, Now to service the rest of it on the weekend
