Anti roll bar upgrade
My anti roll bar seems to have been used as a jacking point and is a little bit bent. ive seen that eibach do an anti roll bar kit but it's a little bit more than I want to spend. Has anyone got any experience with a stiffer one, or knows of a cheaper alternative? Cheers.

Re: Anti roll bar upgrade
I'm doing a little bit of second guessing here as you don't say which end is bent. However front ARBs should have a slight downward bend in them towards the centre of the car to allow clearance for the exhaust pipe, I wonder if yours has been removed and refitted upside down at some point?
Rear ones are pretty much straight from side to side, I think I've still got a standard rear one in my garage somewhere if needed. Eibach ARBs are a good upgrade if you are still running standard springs or fairly soft lowering spring (like eibach's pro kit) as it stiffens up the rear a lot more and gives a sharper turn into corners. I think H&R used to do ARBs for the mk1 chassis as well, although i seem to remember they were more expensive than Eibach.

Re: Anti roll bar upgrade
Thanks for the reply. It's def been damaged it bends up near the inner mount but only on one side. I've got wietec tx adjustable coilovers to be fitted, so I can make the ride quite hard. Think I'll just fit a standard one and replace at a later date if I fancy it. Are there thicker standard ones?

Re: Anti roll bar upgrade
16v ones might have been thicker but obviously hard to get hold of. I have a standard one here with Powerflex bushes if you fancy a p/ex for the other bits.

Re: Anti roll bar upgrade
I've just fitted front and rear H&R ones with all black series polybush kit but can't say how it feels yet as the car is not running.

You'll have to let me know if it's worth the £ when it's on the road.
