Evening guys, the wing aireal has never come up on my scirocco since owning it. I've been told it should come up when the radio is switched on. I may have been told wrong and it be one you have to pull up yourself!
I presume its a long lasting issue due to a more up to date type aireal fitted on the roof.
Basically, is there a motor/fuse that controls it or a common problem so I can sort it and get rid of the one on the roof?
Regards
Matt

Re: Aireal not coming up
Have a look behind the mud shield inside the front wing. The aerial will have a motor if it's motorized! Not many of them are, and most of the manual aerials are broken by now!

Re: Aireal not coming up
You can get an electric aerial bit it is most likely not.
The easiest way to check is just pull and see what happens, it may be pretty stiff if it hasn't been up for a while.
The best way to check would be to remove the wheel arch liner and see if there is an electric mechanism in the wing or just an aerial tube.
If it is electric and isn't working it could be as simple as a missing wire from the head unit or a dead motor/mechanism or even just seized from lack of use.
Ben.

Re: Aireal not coming up
If the hole is too tight use a bit of lube.
But on a more serious note. Looking under the arch will confirm and that way you dont risk damaging anything either.
