MK2 seat belt clip removal
Switching my drivers seat for a non ripped passengers seat so I need to switch the seat belt clip over, but I can figure out how this is attached...
Wanted to check if anyone knew before I broke something.

Yes, It's more "11"...Looks like a standard bolt nut affair in the explosion but what I have looks like it's pressed together...I can't get a spanner on anything.

11 is where the seatbelt is mounted to the body - at the bottom of the B-pillar. 8/8E are the seatbelt "receiver" stalks.
If you're trying to convert a passenger seat to a driver seat by swapping the stalk from one side to the other - you can't. The bases are different.

Re: MK2 seat belt clip removal
It looks to me that once removed I could fit a drivers side one to the other side. I'm just unsure how to remove it as it looks pressed in.
I have one I can sacrifice so i'll go for it later and post a picture

OK, I think I know what you're talking about now. The seatbelt clip is bolted to the rear leg of the seat. You're talking about swapping the legs? And the "press fitting" is the lower of the two in the picture below?

It looks like some kind of evil rivet device to me
And even if you could swap them, you'd still have the problem of the seat rail and adjuster handle.

Yeah, I see what you mean now. I didn't realise the frames where that different.
Looks like I'll have to take the cover and padding out and transfer it to a drivers side frame!
Is this doable? Or would I need an interior specialist? I've go no idea how seats go together

Re: MK2 seat belt clip removal
The top half separates from the bottom quite easily - a couple of bolts iirc.
The bottom cover is dead easy to remove and replace - as is the seat foam. It's pretty obvious how when you take a look.
I've never messed with the top half but I think it's a bit more complicated.

Re: MK2 seat belt clip removal
I remember a lot of metal/wire teeth/clip type things when I dismantled a set of seats completely. It's all possible with simple tools and fingers, but having said that I've only taken them apart and not put them back together again!
