Can anyone tell me what the main difference is between the gt and gt2?

GT were mostly 1.6, except 89/90 when they had a 1.8 and at the same time the Scala changed from carb to injection. GT/GT2 are all carbed.

1.6 GT have the 4+E gearbox, 1.8 GT and GT2 have the closer ratio 5-speed.

GT2 all have the tartan check seat fabric and sports seats, GT had different fabric depending on engine size and did not have sports seats.

They all came with steel wheels as standard, but the GT2 wheels are slightly different and had plastic beauty trims inside the rims.

GT2 all have body kit in body colour, whereas GT kits are black regardless of body colour. That's about it.

GT2 also got anti roll bars which the GT didn't get.
