Hey everyone,
It's been nearly a week now and its intermittent. Basically when I am driving the car seems to rev up. If it does it when the car is stationary it literally goes up to about 5000 so I turn the ignition off and then when I start it again it seems fine. When for example I go into 2nd and I am braking the revs go up to nearly 2000. It then slowly comes down however if I am in 3rd or 4th the car seems to almost take over and feels like its picking up speed - almost like cruise control. It takes ages to brake when it does this and have to come down in gear quicker than normal and then suddenly it stops and is fine again!!

Its a twin weber carb. Choke flaps?
