Build date confirmation on my TS

Received a letter from VW today confirming my Scirocco TS build date as 21st of October 1974, does anyone know the launch month? VW told me on the phone that it was between Oct and December 74 and since ive never heard of any car being launched at Christmas time that pretty much narrows it down to Oct or Nov Motor magazine tested the Scirocco on th 5th of Oct '74 so had it been launched or was that a press car? My car was registered in late Nov '74 was my car a dealership demo car, I await feedback for DVLA.

being old enough to remember 1974 and the mk1 uk launch brad i'd say yes to the October/November period - seem to recall What Car did a comparison test on a TS vs a Capri 1600 xl in the november or december 74 issue.

I now have an official news release document from VW dated14.2.74, the top line reads "Embargoed until Thursday, 7 March". The document then goes on to describe the new sports coupe and says the car in right hand will arrive in Britain in the summer, but did it? VW UK have already told me its was release between Oct -Dec '74, does anyone know the true launch date?
