Crazy speedometer/clocks

Post by scirocco-monkey »

OK, The mileage clock in my Scirocco sometimes works and sometimes does not, I have changed the clocks and it's still the same. Is there anything I need to check or am I just unlucky to have to dodgy sets of clocks? Everything else works perfectly.

Cheers...Rich

Indeed, the cables can rust on the inside and stop turning!

Ahhh right, I thought since the actual speed and rev counter works fine the cable would be ok, It's only the mileometer thats playing up. Is it easy enough to change the cable or is it a pig of a job?

There used to be a how to page on repairing your Speedo when this happens. It's a common fault and a relatively easy fix
