mk1 wiring question (the first of many!)
by the N/S/R light, i've got 2 unknown wires. one is white, and comes out of the same bit of sleeve as the wire to the boot light. the other is grey with a white trace, and just comes out of the main rear loom. i'm assuming one of these is the feed for the heated screen, and i'm guessing the white one. no idea what the other is for, and there aren't any "spare" connectors for it to connect to. anyone got any ideas?

Oooh, that's interesting! My fogs were wired in with black, direct to the switch with blue crimps on the ends. Might have to see if all the factory wiring is hiding there somewhere...

There was an old thread where someone's Storm actually had all the wiring in place (inc grey/yellow wire at the front end for the switch) even though it was a 79.

Yes, mine is a 79 too. Wondered if they were either dealer fit or just been chucked on by one of the many previous owners

In 1979 they you could have had them fitted as a factory fit option or a dealer fit option, just to confuse matters!

Re: mk1 wiring question (the first of many!)
ok, next up is the brake light switch. originally, mine had 2x 3 wire pressure switches wired in parallel, with red/black, red/yellow and blue wires. according to the wiring diagram i have for a '79 GLS, the switch is just a momentary switch that connects the red/black and red/yellow wires together. so what does the blue do? can i just remove it and use the other 2 for a pedal mounted switch?
does anyone have an accurate wiring diagram for this car they could email to me?
cheers
