i'm assuming from your post that a new belt was fitted and failed after only 2 weeks? this would suggest a problem making it break (or it was too tight)
check the water pump and alternator spin nice and freely, and that the insides of the pulleys aren't corroded or cracked
No sorry i didn't make it clear. The car has only been on the road 2 weeks after having new suspension and other little parts fitting. before that it was sat in a drive for 2 months. I am assuming just wear and tear?
nope, no tensionners or anything on these. just have a nosey round the pulleys before you start and make sure the groove on them is nice and smooth, bit of fine wet and dry if it isn't. would be worth checking the adjuster hasn't seized up now, to give you time to free it off before the new belt arrives. i reccommend plusgas releasing oil (other brands are available)
well just got word from the mechanic.. looks like the clutch pressure plate is gone. guess it's time to look for a new kit for the damn money pit lol. thanks for all the help
