Petrol Tank Refurb Contacts?

Post by G60MAT »

Now the car is running, the tank is clearly full of "gunk" so looking at getting it cleaned out and refurbed, anyone done similar or got any contacts?

It might then be cheaper and easier to buy a new one.

Just get it steamed out - many local garages can do this. Then treat the inside of the tank with some tank sealer from frosts

In the thread he says it was £253 to refurb the tank back in 2009 so guess its a bit more money now.
You could buy serval new ones for that amount of money.

Can you actually get a genuine new one or just repro?

Not found out if genuine is still available, I would rather spend the extra having the original repaired than fit a pattern part .my tank is also pretty good just rusty sludge inside due to it been sat up for twenty years.
