Hi, I've just fitted a Weber and noticed the current throttle cable has an end incompatible with the fitting where it connects to the carb. I've managed to bodge it to work but would like it done right asap.
Is this normal and do I need a specific cable?

Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
Heater element is there to help prevent carb icing by warming the fuel before it gets to the carb.
The accelerator cable will fit bit the end has a nipple on it that contacts the body of the carb stopping the car idling properly. I cut the nipple end off and have had no issues.

I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!
Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
If I cut the nipple off I don't have a clamp to grip the cable. Can the pierburg fitting be utilised?

Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
as above, all I did to my throttle cable was cut the end off. To do this without the cable fraying, wrap it with insulting tape and chop it with a disc cutter
Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
Looking on the net I think have a different fitting on my Weber. Its hard to explain without pics but there is no clamp to grip the end of the cable

Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
Normally, where the cable goes, there will be 2 flat sides with a round hole thru them. Into this slides a tube with an inside thread and a hold for the cable to pass thru, and a bolt that you tighten to clamp the cable
Re: throttle cable fitting on weber
Yep that's what I need. The barrel I have already has a hole for the cable to pass through, but no tightening grip screw for the cable end , to stop it pulling back through.
Nice one, thanks mate
