how much for leather retrim?

as the title suggests, what are people prepared to pay to re trim in any color leather the two front seats and rear bench only?
ive been quoted £1100 which strikes me as too much, but to be fair most cars new to have leather seats is over a grand optional extra.

A decent leather hide will set you back a good few hundred quid. You probably want 2 or 3 to do a pair of seats. That price seems about right to me

to be fair that would make sense.
there are places about that will do it for £500 especially down london way which makes me wonder what kind of "leather" they are using?

I visited an upholsterer a couple of months back to restitch one of the seats in the Storm. I asked him about the cost of a retrim in new tan leather, looked at a few swatches of leather samples and was quoted £800 and £1000, obviously the expensive option was for better quality leather but not door cards.
This bloke was based close to London, in Essex and the quality of his work was outstanding, a true craftsman.

Yes, there are companys out there that will do cheaper but they will only do the seat facings, they use the existing leatherette backs of the seats!

Ian, please do share the details of your craftsman upholsterer :b. Saw his work when we met at Cosford. My drivers seat needs help now ! I cant find anybody to do it in the east mids area.

That total retrim cost is about right. I had a quote over a year back for about same £ in a premium tan leather. They reckoned it was about 3 hides worth.
