It looks like i'm going to have to sell my mk1 G60 that I've owned for the last 6 years or so, i've been made an offer based on someone wanting the engine and am interested in more opinions of the value.
It was converted by John Mitchell of JMR and is heavily modded which adds to the complication of valuing it. It has a G60 engine, complete loom, fusebox, gearbox, driveshafts and shifter mech. from a corrado. Since I've owned it its had a corrado dash fitted and part of the rollcage removed. It's been sorn'd and hasn't been run for the last 4 years and the bodywork now needs a little attention as the pics should show.

Re: Opinions on mk1 G60 value
Hey Lee - tricky one.
Mint cars have sold for as much as £5k and offers of £7k have been turned down for certain cars we know about too.
I'd personally look at this in this way.
A sold Mk1 @ £2500-3000, factor in a desirable spec, running and ready to MOT, add another £1500.
Allow for any recommissioning costs - fuel system ok?
Allow for paint/bodywork - anywhere between a quick blow-over at sub £1k to a full on windows out job at £1500-2500??
Take all these issues into account, then it's a question of cutting a deal that would suit you and any buyer.
No doubt the vultures will circle and offer silly money but at the end of the day the cars haven't retained Golf like values either - only you can decide what you need to see out of this one.

Re: Opinions on mk1 G60 value
Hey chap!
I really would not sell, honestly, or break, even worse !
Shame to see / hear that another MK 1 will be broken up for its parts and pieces and such a car with with its history etc
If I could, I would, but I am in no position to swoop down and get this off you, so that is probably not particularly helpful.
I spoke to Lance about this car at length when he was wobbling about selling or not.
See if Lance would buy it back first ?
Value wise I would be looking at getting what the car is worth as a whole ( which only you know the price you paid ) even if the buyer only wants the engine and bits and pieces. Be up to you to agree the final sale amount / test the waters if you add anything on to the price you paid. Depends if you have done any work to it or it has been locked up in a garage somewhere.
No real point in an engine-less mk 1 shell unless you are going to put another engine in it and the shell to me for example, and maybe a few other 'rocco buffs, loses value straightaway as it has a damn sunroof in it plus bodywork which it may or may not need. As I always say to people, no-one knows what lurks under a re-finish and some sprayers forget very easily !
( un )fortuanetly it is the engine that makes this car and not the other way around.
Should not be broken though, nope - so in a sense it is a shame you ended up with it and not someone else who would have given it the home it deserves and then it would not be in this position !
Ebay ? Reserve set ridiculously high and see where you land and what offers come in via messages ?

Ok this needs to go as it's now getting in the way and I don't have any time. £2,000. Will be putting an ad in the for sale section on here first and then ebay if it doesn't go.

Evening,
The rust spot, on the roof (in pictures) next to the Sun Roof appature, it does appear more than a stone chip, have you got any recent pictures of that?

The top set of pictures are the most recent I have and were taken early July this year. The rust spot is more than a stonechip but not rotten.
