Hello all.
Been struggling with the clutch biting point for a couple of weeks, ever since the selector popped off and I had to drive through a city centre in 3rd. Lights were difficult.
It's only biting right at the final couple of millimetres of pedal travel.
While I can drive it, it's a bit un-nerving as every time you change gear it feels like it won't engage.
I was thinking there could be 3 causes:
1. Burnt out the clutch completely.
2. Clutch needs re-adjusting.
3. Pulled the clutch through the bulkhead.
Anyone had any experience with similar?

Re: Clutch biting point
Check it isn't pulled thru the bulkhead. If it is, fit a repair plate, if it isn't tweek the cable adjuster

Re: Clutch biting point
You should have approx 25mm free play on the cable.

Re: Clutch biting point
If there is no repair plate fitted fit one anyway as it will add extra strength to the bulk head. If it does pull through it makes a right mess of the bulk head.

Re: Clutch biting point
So just had a tinker.
Bulk head is completely solid, no rust, and doesn't look like it's pulled through. Going to fit one of these just in case. GSF 715VG0420
Think it may just need adjustment, or the cables stretched, as I think the adjuster is as far out as it can go.
Could it have stretched so much that the it's only biting at the top of the point even when it's adjusted as far as it will go?
