Handbrake cable length
Just bought a pair of Pagid handbrake cables from Eurocarparts and they are about 3 inches longer than the old ones. As this is overall length I'm guessing it doesn't mater and it's just a brand thing ? There is only one part number listed for a mk2 with rear drums anyway. Does anybody know if these will fit ok or even if there are 2 different lengths ?

Re: Handbrake cable length
i suppose it depends how they are longer. if the sheath and cable is longer, it won't make any difference - i.e. there's the same amount of cable sticking out the ends of the sheath as the original. it will just sit slightly differently under the car
if the threaded end is longer, you'll just have to adjust the cable at the handbrake end to take the slack out of it.
if the cable is longer, you might not have enough adjustment in the cable to get them tight enough, but you won't know until you try them

Re: Handbrake cable length
Yes - The whole thing is longer, the inner cable lengths protruding from the outer are the same, so I can't see that it'll matter. As you say it'll just run in a slightly larger radius curve. changing both so it'll look ok. All good then. Thanks.
