should I buy weitec coilovers or....?

Post by treefingers »

I'm just about to get some Weitec GT coilovers for my MK2... but before I buy them I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on any other suspension for similar cost? I've read up that these are pretty good but it'd be helpful to get some second opinions. My budget is £600, they're for road use, not going to be mega slammed but a reasonable low.

Cheers

You know my views fella. Half a dozen of us use them and none of us have anything other than compliments but definitely get other views.
If you aren't desperate and you can wait then you're more welcome to come for a play in mine but it won't be out until early next year.

The fully adjustable Weitecs or the fully adjustable AP coilovers are both worth considering.

just looking at top mounts.. would you think poly top mounts are needed to get the most out of these? or are febi's ok?

Im running rubber tops all round on a Weitec Hicon GTN kit. Its superb. Polys would be harsher I suspect.

The febi bilstein top mounts will be fine.

I have a set of long discontinued autotech poly top mounts on the BRM, going strong since 1991 incredibly and in perfect condition when last tested........which suggests why they stopped doing them...........they didnt add any harshness on that car but the FB's will be fine and always a good idea to change to mounts when you're adding new suspension or don't know how old the current ones are.
