My Mk1 speedo cable has a screw fitted at the back of the clocks so dont think you can use it on a mk2.
Sorry cant help on finding a new one for you... :-(

The cable is part number 534 957 803, it should be 1860mm for RHD. Ring your local dealer and confirm it and see if they still supply them or can check for any updates?
