Slightly off topic - why does my GLS have a cutout in the drivers side of the chin spoiler?

Is there a non-cutout version??

Its there to cool the engine sump as the GLS does not have an oil cooler, just fresh air!
Can't say I've seen one with out the hole but I've not seen alot of other things.....
