What is the difference between MK1 and MK2 Beam Axle Pivot Bushes ?
Found this on Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Volkswage ... 424wt_1161
supposed to be for MK1Golf and MK1 Rocco, anybody know if will it fit MK2 ? Would like to use it if I could because it works as Veedub intended unlike polybushes which rotate on their compression tubes.
part no. of the one I've just removed is 171501541A.

Try using VAGCAT and compare the part numbers, failing that go yo your local VW dealer and ask them to search on ETKA. You never know the dealers may still sell them?

Re: Beam Axle Pivot Bush mk1 or Mk2 ?
It is useful, thanks.
It seems like the part no. that Europarts_Depot use for the bush is the number used for the whole assembly on ETKA.
ETKA doesn't show a number for the bush on it's own ?
I guess it will fit then ? Unless anyone knows that a MK1 and MK2 Scirocco have different rear beam pivots ?
Has anyone used Europarts_Depot ?

Beam pivot bushing will be identical for Mk1 and Mk2 Roccos - all main running gear on both is pure Mk1 Golf.

That is because VW only ever supplied the whole assembly at a cost of approximately £44 per side.JDUB wrote:It is useful, thanks.

Thanks for the info. Bushes now ordered. I'll post a review re delivery, quality and ease of fitting when I get them. Nearly got everything ready for total rear beam rebuild now. Handbrake cables, Pagid or Gemo ? which is better quality, does it matter ?

Never used either but I can strongly recommend not using Quinton hazel cables. I've had nothing but trouble with themJDUB wrote:Handbrake cables, Pagid or Gemo ? which is better quality, does it matter ?

I fitted the Gemo one about 15 years ago but I've only ever had one snap in 25 years of driving.
