Re: after market steering wheel help
There should be two wires going to the horn push button, so when the two wires make contact the horn works.

Right ok I have a boss kit with the wheel but there's only one red wire on it which connects to the back of the wheel

Re: after market steering wheel help
My after market steering wheel also only has one wire. The horn button housing has a metal strip on the outer edge which completes the circuit when the horn button is depressed - negating the need for a second wire. It sounds like you have a permanent Circuit (earth). Make sure your single red wire is not touching any metal parts of the wheel or boss before the contacts contained within the horn button assembly. I had to use insulating tape on mine to ensure it did not earth prematurely.

What did you have to tape up on the wheel its ok till I turn the wheel then it starts and stays on I just don't get it

Re: after market steering wheel help
have a look for another tab on the horn assembly to push the wire onto.. you may have connected it to a another tab that's not needed on a universal hub..
the taping up part is just making sure the connection is fully insulated and not earthing out on surrounding metal, so tape up any bare parts of the wire/connector, you could also bend the connector slightly so it clears everything around it..
