MK2 central locking tailgate locking pin

Post by mjmaster10 »

So I managed to break the tailgate locking pin (small white piece of plastic). I ordered the following part:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-MK2-Golf- ... 2749.l2649

It is the right size to fit through the brass pin attached to the lock, but the central locking steel arm is too thick to go inside it.

Any ideas? The ebay sellers are drawing a blank on it.

The central locking is factory fitted, standard.

Thanks!

Mark

Thanks. 171837199 - just arrived and they fit in the brass pin, but are too loose to keep the metal arm inside.

I think I'm going to be reduced to grab adhesive at this rate!

Maybe file the arm down slightly to fit inside the mk2 Golf pin?

Make some thread on the metal arm and put a locking nut on ?.

I can't get the metal arm out, that's the other issue. I'm too worried about breaking the plastic housing at the other end that holds the arm in place...
